"Hard work is driven by a grounding in purpose —
and I believe everyone should consider what theirs is."— Hunter Smith

4.0 GPA. Corporate Finance TA. Chose Malawi over a traditional internship. Finance + Real Property + Music. Not a ladder — a trail with a horizon worth walking toward.
Mt. Whitney at 14,505 ft. Weekly adventure photography. A trail ahead I can't fully see — and I wouldn't have it any other way.
San Luis Obispo sits in the heart of California's Central Coast — surrounded by mountains for hiking, beaches within reach, and rolling green hills in every direction. From the first visit, it felt like a place built for someone like me.
Three years in, Cal Poly has exceeded every expectation. I've discovered a career path I'm passionate about, pursued two minors, gone on countless adventures, and built friendships I know will last a lifetime.
Between leading a men's small group, serving as Chaplin in my fraternity, tutoring finance students, playing on a worship team, and catching sunsets from the top of the P-Hill trail — I've learned that the best education doesn't always happen in a classroom.
